
![]() Easy Domain Transfer Instructions for Domain Names registered through Verisign (formerly Network Solutions) ![]() Automatic Transfer When You Sign Up With LA InterWeb Hosting If you signed up for domain hosting with LA InterWeb Hosting and chose the radio button that says 'DOMAIN TRANSFER THROUGH NETWORK SOLUTIONS' on the order form, and your domain transfer will be automatically initiated by our system unless your account at Network Solutions is password protected. If it is password protected at Network Solutions, follow these instructions. If your account is not password protected, Network Solutions will email you twice to verify that you approve the transfer. You should receive your first email from Network Solutions in about 30 minutes.
For other changes including transfer of the domain name to another party or organization, please refer to the instructions outlined on the Network Solutions Make Changes Page. If Your Domain Name Account At Network Solutions Is Password Protected You can find out if your domain name account at Network Solutions is password protected by going to the Network Solutions site here and typing in your domain name. If you are asked for a username and password, then put in the username and password that you were given when you registered your domain name with Network Solutions. (If you don't have that information, you can click on the link that says "Forget Account or Password?" and you will be emailed with that information.) You will need to update your name servers on your domain name to point to our servers. Our name server addresses are here. Save your changes and your domain name will point to our servers in about 24 hours. To initiate the transfer yourself - Follow these steps if our automatic transfer above fails Note: This can be done anytime and as many times as you wish at no extra cost to you. 1. Fill out the Automated Network Solutions Modification Form. (This form will open up in a new browser window so that this current window will stay open and you can refer to the instructions below as you fill out the form). You can also pull this form up by simply going to www.networksolutions.com and clicking on 'Make Changes' tab at the top of the screen. 2. Enter the Domain Name you are transferring to LA InterWeb Hosting and click 'Submit'. (2a) If you have an account with Network Solutions the next screen will ask you for an 'Account Login' and 'Password'. Just fill in this information here and continue to step 5. 3. On the next screen it asks you 'Self-select what you want to do (recommended)' click on the drop down menu and choose 'transfer my Domain Name to another ISP' option and click 'GO'. 4. On the next screen it asks you for your email address, just fill in your email address and click 'GO'. 5. The next screen will show your domain information. Go to where it says 'Technical Contact' and put our technical contact handle TF6341. Then go down to where it says 'Name Server Information' and fill in the Primary & Secondary name server information with our information provided in the table below.
6. You will receive the first email at the e-mail address you provided in Step 1 in about 5 minutes. Simply reply to this first e-mail and send it back to Network Solutions for processing. 7. Then, you will get another email from Network Solutions. It will have a 'NIC-' in the subject of the email. This is your NIC Tracking Number. 8. Reply to this second email after putting an: M next to 0a, and a: Y next to 1a and send it back to Network Solutions. 9. You will receive another email from Network Solutions in the next 4-5 hours saying that the changes are complete. It will take about 24-48 hours AFTER you receive this email from Network Solutions before your domain name will work. This is because the Internet has to 'propagate'. Propagate basically means that all the databases on all the different backbones on the Internet have to update the changes. |
